The Pacific Ocean

Pacific Ocean is the largest Ocean in the World. It covers about 30% of earth surface. It is the deepest ocean of the world as well with average depth more than 12, 4000 feet. The deepest point in the Ocean is Challenger Deep in Mariana Trench located in the western Pacific Ocean near the Philippines. North and South America lies on the east of Pacific Ocean. On West of Pacific Asia and Australia are located. In the north from Bering Strait, it is connected with the Arctic Ocean. South Ocean lies in the south of Pacific Ocean. Literal manning of Pacific is Peace the name is given due to the relatively smooth ocean surface. It is encircled by the famous ring of volcanic ranges called Ring of Fire.

Atlantic Ocean

Atlantic is the second largest Ocean in the World. It is the youngest ocean in the world. Its geographical shape resembles to English character S. Saragossa that is the world the only sea that does not touch the land is located in the Atlantic Ocean. North and South America lies on the west of Atlantic Ocean. World largest river Amazon, world fastest river Congo and World longest river Nile (indirectly) flow down in the Atlantic Ocean. World most maritime traffic goes through the Atlantic Ocean. Like the Pacific Ocean, it touches all other four oceans. World largest island is Greenland which is located in the North Atlantic Ocean. The famous so-called unsinkable Titanic sank in the Atlantic Ocean in 1912, when it struck with detached ice burg of Arctic ice shelve.

Indian Ocean

Third largest ocean in the world is the Indian Ocean. In the North of Indian, Ocean Asia exists. In the south Southern (Antarctic) Ocean is located. East Asia is encircling the Indian Ocean from the west, whereas as Malay Archeology and Australia are to the East of it. The roots of its name go to Indian continent. It is the warmest among all the ocean.

Southern Ocean 

The Southern Ocean is the world fourth biggest ocean and most cold as well. It is the only Ocean in the world that encircles a continent, Antarctica. It also encompasses the South Pole. It is relatively a young ocean. It is relatively considered dangerous for maritime traffic due to the scattered ice burgs. It covers about 6% of the world surface. It has the least number of ports as compared to other oceans. As the Arctic Ocean is fully located in the Northern hemisphere, Southern Ocean completely lies in Southern Hemisphere. Humans have not navigated in the Southern ocean until the 18th century.

Arctic Ocean is the smallest ocean in the world. It is located in the north of North America, Europe and Asia. It is most Shallow Ocean as well. Most of it remained frozen throughout the year. The literal meaning of Arctic is Bear, it earns this name due to the existence of Polar bear on its ice sheets. In winter almost whole of Arctic ocean was used to frozen but as the result of the increasing global warming unfrozen area is increasing year by year. It is expected that in coming decades the entire ice cap of Arctic Ocean could be melt.
