Asia

Asia is the largest continent in the world. It is also the most populated continent in the world. It is called continent of extremes. World tallest World largest country Russia is mainly located in Asia (some of its part is in Europe), world most populous country China is also in Asia. The Dead Sea the lowest point on the earth is in Western Asia. World largest lake Caspian Sea is in central Asia. World deepest lake Baikal is located in Asia as well. The highest peak of the world Mount Everest is in Nepal that is an Asian country. About 30 percent area of the world is in Asia.

Africa

Africa is the second largest continent of the world and the second most populous continent as well. It is also called Dark Continent as for a long period people did not know much about the inner part of Africa. This was due to hostile physical features like dense forest desert, savanna plains full of dangerous animals. Europe 

Europe is the fifth largest continent in the world. There are about fifty countries in Europe, as compared to other continents European countries are relatively small in size. If you see in the map Europe and Asia are part of a single land mass the separation between them Ural mountain range.

North America

North America is the third largest continent in the world. Cristopher Columbus discovered it in 1492. There are pieces of evidence that Viking from northern Europe have reached in North America 500 years ago even the Chinese have reached there in the first quarter of 15th century. Canada is the largest country in North America.

South America

South America is the fourth largest continent in the world. World largest rainforest is located in South America. It is also the land of world longest mountain range, Andes. World driest desert Atacama is located in South America. Brazil is its largest country.

Australia is the smallest continent in the world. It is a single country content. Mount Augustus, located Western Australia is the largest monolith in the world. Second largest monolith (monolith is mountain constitute of a single rock) Uluru (Ayers Rock) is also in Central Australia, it is much more famous than Mount Augustus and many people mistook it as largest monolith.

Antarctica

Antarctica is the fifth largest continent in the world. About 98 percent of it is covered by ice. There is no permanent human settlement there, though now some thousands scientist and support staff there in research centers. There is no country in Antarctica.
